Deadline Calculator by State

Each state and territory has different SOPA deadlines, day-counting rules, and adjudication bodies. Select your state below for a dedicated calculator with state-specific FAQ and legislation references.

How SOPA Deadlines Work

Once you serve a payment claim under SOPA (or the CCA in WA/NT), three critical deadlines start running:

1. Payment Schedule Deadline — the respondent must serve a written payment schedule within a set number of business days (or calendar days in WA/NT) of receiving your claim. If they don't, they lose the right to dispute the claimed amount and you can recover it as a debt.

2. Payment Due Date — the date by which the respondent must actually pay the scheduled amount (or the full claimed amount if no schedule was served).

3. Adjudication Application Window — if the respondent serves a payment schedule for less than you claimed, you have a limited window to apply for adjudication. Missing this window can void your adjudication rights for that claim.

Business days exclude weekends and public holidays. This calculator accounts for state-specific public holidays automatically.
